dead tree with yellow moon and blue clouds.

An old fir snag on the hillside in front of the studio inspired this platter. It captures the ancient spirit of the redwood and fir forests that cover this Lost Coast region of California.

Photograph of a large porcelain vase with deep red and blue patterns around the mouth and shoulder

This large porcelain vase shows one variation on our copper red or Ox Blood glaze. A very deep, dark red covers the body of the vase, with brilliant blue and red patterns at the mouth and shoulder. The colors and patterns of this glaze combination are unique, and each ceramic creation is a "one of a kind."

This small, porcelain, covered box was hand carved with the pattern of a spider and web on the cover and base. A medium cobalt blue glaze highlights the pattern in a technique called shadowing.

Photograph of a porcelain vase in blue Chun glaze with red columbine bouquet.

This vase in blue Chun glaze is patterned after a nineteenth century French design. The shape, with its pie crust lip is especially suited to large bouquets of flowers. Both small and very large versions of the form are produced.

Photograph of a mirror black platter with a circle in a square in a circle pattern of blue stars.

A large stoneware platter glazed in our Mirror Black glaze showing a circle in a square in a circle pattern worked out in a multitude of small, blue stars. This variation in our One Thousand Stars glaze shows the control that is possible with the effect.
