Crackle glazed porclain platter with emerald green decoration. After years of experiments we have developed a clear glaze that produces a wide crackle pattern on the studio porcelain clay body. Other porcelain bodies give greatly different results.
This large stoneware bowl shows our popular One Thousand Stars glaze pattern. Many customers have purchased pottery in this striking glaze which reminds one of star patterns in a clear night's sky.
Three candleholders showing our Yellow, Saphire, and Lavender Matt glazes. Because electrical power is at times unreliable in the north woods, candleholders are a popular local item. They are produced in hundreds of different colors and forms.
Three salad bowls glazed in our popular Mendocino Hills pattern. The warm, rust color of our Iron Red glaze compliments the rich greens and blues of a glaze called Hals. These earth tone colors are only achieved on a stoneware clay body.
A porcelain platter glazed in our Crab's Crackle glaze with the addition of an Emerald pattern we call Computer Man. The crackle is lightly stained so as not to overcome the applied pattern.
A slender, porcelain vase with carving of wisteria leaves and flowers covering the outer surface. The carved areas are highlighted by a clear blue glaze in a technique called shadowing. All carvings are done on unfired clay pieces by hand using dental picks as carving tools. Great care must be taken as the unfired work is very fragile.
Stoneware salad bowl glazed in our jade and red glaze combination we call Oz. This is one of our newest glaze creations and it will fire successfully only in our professional kiln, Big Red.
