Animals Don't Cover Their Tracks
Whether you are strolling along the river or hiking through a trail you always seem to
come across an imprint of a much smaller visitor that was there before you. It looks
canine but is it the family dog or a coyote? We share the park with so many different
animals but they elude our sight. With this class, learn to identify what these elusive
neighbors leave behind for us to see. Learn to be a detective and investigate the clues
the tracks will reveal about the animals you almost encounter. See slides of tracks and
then go into the field to find your own. Bring lunch, good walking shoes and water. It is
also recommended that you bring drawing items or a camera to document your findings.
Hand-outs will be provided. Children from age nine permitted in this class when
accompanied by an adult.
