| Starting at the north end of this trail, you will hike in
large redwoods, heading south along the Eel River. A short spur trail to your right leads
you to the oldest known stump in the park. It lived 2,200 years before it was cut down in
1934. It is quite overgrown with huckleberries and its rings are no longer readable. The High Rock Overlook offers views of the Eel River. There is a good swimming hole near High Rock. |
