GI's FOR PEACE

In December of 1998 we recieved the following challenge

Hear Ye Hear Ye
Veterans for Peace
Call your Cousins
Notify your neice

The Cornerstone Dreamcatchers of recent fame
Challenge you to a basketball game
We may be good but we won't flaunt it
We're just her to throw down the gauntlet

We won't give you a double scare
But we will offer you a double dare
To make the game fun for all you see
And challenge each within his capacity

We agree to do the same
With your B team we'll be tame
But once the ball is in the air
The competition should not be spared

So if you'll meet us on the basketball court
We'll all find out the true meaning of sport
If you'll accept the glove we've hurled
You'll help us catch ours dreams in the world

So we promptly responded

HARKEN HARKEN
Dreamcatchers beware
Vets for Peace have accepted your dare

Legend tells us dreams are caught
By dreamcatchers with webs so taut
But the Vets for Peace will set their own snare
And all you will catch is your own worst nightmare

Thought Vets for Peace may be our name
Don't think for a minute that we'll be tame
We'll pass and shoot and run and dribble
THIS IS A FACT IT'S NOT A FIBBLE

We may look mellow cool and calm
But you know we vets are ticking time bombs
We may be slow and fat and old
But on the court we will explode

Vets shooting baskets instead of a gun
This competition is going to be fun
And we will be enjoyed by all of the watchers
When the Vets for Peace bounce the great Dreamcatchers

On January 22 1998, we met on the court at the Mateel Community Center. It wasn't very pretty. The Dreamcatchers trounced the GI's. The pictures below were from before it got ugly.
